the vow.
I went to see a movie with a friend on Valentines’ Day. The movie The Vow was about a couple getting in a car accident and the woman had a brain aneurism that caused her to forget who she was and everything about her current lifestyle. She remembered high school but nothing past that. When her husband approached her as she was waking up in the hospital she freaked out. She didn’t know him. He finally convinced her to at least try coming home with him to see if she would remember their life together. When she got up in the morning she would ask him what she usually did, what she ate, what she liked, what her hobbies were, who she talked to, how she liked her coffee.. He joyfully and intimately explained to her everything about her. This is how God is to us. We forget everything in the past; he wipes the slate clean and then intimately explains to us who we are in Him.

oh, the places you'll go. part II
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for the support and prayers you’ve provided in my life so far. I am truly blessed to have a strong, constant support through family and friends. I am also writing to invite you to be a part of the next steps in my journey with the Lord. God has opened doors of opportunity in ministry and floodgates of grace for growth in my walk with Him. My passion is definitely burning for summer camping ministry, and my heart is all for what God is doing at Jonah Ministries this year.
This month I have started preparations for the summer as the Jonah Program Intern. This includes going to colleges, churches, youth groups, and schools to recruit summer staff and campers, being an aid to summer camp directors and any program related activities, and washing dishes on the weekend for our retreat groups of 100+. (Praise God for bringing in large groups!) My prayer is that in all of this is that campers will be shown Christ’s love and that the staff this summer would grow in life-long, Christ-based relationships as they work beside each other.
In writing to you, I am asking for support for Jonah. While I am here I would like to cover the amount of what Jonah will be paying me monthly. Here is my clever solution. “20x20 vision” I believe this to be “perfect” and achievable. If 20 people could pledge twenty dollars per month this would total four hundred dollars and cover much of Jonah’s outlay to me as an intern. Is this perfect or what? Please pray about this opportunity to give to Jonah. Jonah’s website, www.campjonah.com , states the ministries history, mission statement, program, and plans. I hope this is helpful to you. Also, Jonah sends out an E-news email regularly that is informative on what is happening in all aspects of the ministry. If you would like to receive these updates please respond to me with your email address.
I will be living and working at Jonah until August of this year. I am fitting in schoolwork finishing up classes through Miles Community College online and will graduate in May with an A.S. in Business Management. In August, I will start in on classes at Multnomah Bible University in Portland. Working at Jonah is a huge opportunity to grow and build experience in camping ministry. This shows me how grand God’s provision is and His hand in where He is taking me with my passion for camp in the future. Thank you for being a part of it all!
Much Gratitude,
Kali

neither they toil nor spin
Consider the lilies, they don't toil nor spin
But there's not a king with more splendor than them
Consider the sparrows, they don't plant nor sow
But they're fed by the Master
Who watches them grow
We have a heavenly Father above
With eyes full of mercy
And a heart full of love
He really cares when your head is bowed low
Consider the lilies and then you will know
May I introduce you
To this Friend of mine
Who hangs out the stars
And tells the sun when to shine
And kisses the flowers
Each morning with dew
But He's not too busy to care about you!
We have a heavenly Father above
With eyes full of mercy
And a heart full of love
He really cares when your head is bowed low
Consider the lilies and then you will know

called to prayer
Boldly, we shall approach His throne, there we shall find grace and mercy when we need it most. ~Hebrew 4:16
God, our Creator, forgives us through the cross.
God wants to know us, He wants to make sure we have received that forgiveness and reconciliation.
So if you have received
be faithful and devoted in prayer.
Romans 12:12
Romans 12:12
pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
I make supplication with my voice to the Lord.
Psalm 142:1
be still and know that I am God
Psalm 46:10
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 1 Timothy 2:1
pray for your family
pray for your friends
pray for your country
pray for your community
pray for your school
pray for unbelievers
pray for people around the world
He tells us not to worry, but to tell Him everything.
Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Let your requests be made known to God. Tell Him what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6,7
So don't worry about what you will eat, drink, or wear, these things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your father already knows all of your needs. Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. ~Matthew 6:31-33
Pray for your desires and plans.
Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him, and He will do it. ~Psalm 37:4,5
Committing: Tell Him of all the things you plan on doing, all the things you want to do. Placing you trust in Him in every aspect of your life.
Trust in the Lord with all you heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make you paths straight. ~Proverbs 3:5,6
Commit you works to the Lord and your plans will be established. ~Proverbs 16:3
"Give me understanding, that I may learn
your commandments.
~Psalm 119:73
Your word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light to my path.
~Psalm 119:105
O, Send out your light and your truth,
let them guide me."
~Psalm 43:3
Pray, rejoicing for what Christ has done for you.
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. ~1John 1:7
Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. ~1Corinthians 1:30
He heard my cry! He brought me out of the pit! He delivered me from my sin! He has given me a new song to sing! Others will see what He has done for me, and put their trust in Him!~Psalm 40
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins. ~Ephesians 1:7
Romans 5:6-11
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were yet sinners. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.
So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God. Through Christ we have received the reconciliation.
God, our Creator, wants to know us.
We are forgiven of all our sins, our stains, our iniquities.
Forgiveness is one sided,
simply one party forgiving the other.
God, our Creator, forgives us through the cross.
Romans chapter five says we have been given reconciliation.
Reconciliation is when that one party that gave forgiveness makes sure that it is received.
God wants to know us, He wants to make sure we have received that forgiveness and reconciliation.
So if you have received
the free gift of the cross.
Let Him know:
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe in You.
Thank You for giving Your life for me.
Thank You for taking my sin and shame upon the cross.
I have received that free gift of forgiveness.
Consider me reconciled.
I need You.
I need Your grace to forgive me,
and I need Your love to change me.
Thank You for Your amazing love.
I accept You as my Lord and Savior.
I will follow Christ,
You live in me.
I belong to You.
I will live my life for You, loving others, as Your life changes me.
“Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

My Life Is Too Comfortable.
Have you ever heard a tear-jerking story, seeing that tragedy is what has brought someone so close to their Savior? It was not the tragedy, but rather, their realization that their identity is in Christ.
I am very blessed to have an ordinary past, not much tragedy or heartbreak for this girl.
Francis Chan states in his book Forgotten God, “We draw close to God in times of necessity. –Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the “Helper” or “Comforter.” –Why would we need to experience the Comforter if our lives are already comfortable? –If we are never alone or feeling like we need Him, how much do we care or need to know that God is with us?”
Recently I have taken false security in being clean, busy, organized, busy, demanded, and busy. After realizing that my security and identity was set on these worldly things, (not in accordance with Colossians 3:2 & 3 “set your mind on the things above….when Christ, who is your life”) I needed to repent.
Another thing God has boldly shown is that He answers prayer! He answers my prayer! And I could read His word all day, but if I don’t ask for Him to reveal himself, if I don’t pray and talk to Him, I will not see His face or hear His voice. So I must express what I expect.
I prayed for a breaking point, to be taken out of my comfort zone, where we know only God can change our life, only Christ can hold us together, and only the Spirit can comfort us.
Well, this week I have been cooped up in my room with the flu/fever/head cold. Now I know this was not a deadly sickness, or a tragedy, but very much so out of my comfort zone. I don’t have much tolerance for being ill. And on top of that, I had to miss class, which is way out of my comfort zone. And on top of that, not be able to see people, getting pretty far out there. At the very top, I had to ask for help. I had to ask for office hours to be covered and a friend to take care of me by getting food from the cafeteria. And I didn’t get to be anyone’s helper.
All of the things that I put my security in are not bad things in a sense that I shouldn’t do any of them. I should be clean, organized, and busy; however, my security should not be IN those things. It should be in Christ, who is my life. Colossians 3:3
I was comfortable with conducting everyday for the past couple weeks only doing what I ought to do and nothing more, like the unworthy servants in Luke 17. I don’t want to do that anymore. I am a passionate person and I want to feel that every day. During my sickness I surrendered, and I just want to be well again so I can sing and dance and do some fist pumping for my Jesus!
My life is too comfortable, is yours?
Be in prayer about it. God answers prayer!
